Mission

Please browse our website to get a better idea of the scope of our work. But in brief, Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project
works with farmers, consumers, retailers, and schools, among other businesses and organizations. We offer Appalachian Grown brand
certification; publish the Local Food Guide, Local Food & Farm Map, and the Mixing Bowl guide for chefs and farmers;
and promote and market local food. Our projects include Growing Minds, a Farm to School program; the Asheville City Market;
and events ranging from training for farmers to the Family Farm Tour for the public.
We also provide an online calendar and e-newsletter, as well as information on grants, business planning, and much more.
